Trying to Keep Toes Warm! (@KaceyHammell) #Writing #Winter #TopPick

Good morning everyone!
As my topic states, I’m trying to keep my tootsies warm in this cold weather. Winter has been brutal with the cold temperatures. And normally I wouldn’t mind that, however, here in Ontario the strange temperatures are most frustrating. We have gone from bone chilling days to milder days (people have actually worn shorts on these days — only in Canada!!), and it’s the back and forth that is difficult to deal with. It seems the drastic changes are the cause of many colds and people don’t know how to dress from one day to the next. But they should know better. Canadian winters are not the same every year and they can be tough to get through. While my toes are cold and I haven’t gone more than a day or two without a cozy sweater on, I love the fact that it’s Canada. It’s home. I could do without the treacherous driving on snow / freezing rain days. I usually stay home those days but I worry for others who are out and about, trying to make it to work and such.

Writing news — “Payback’s a Bitch” released at Evernight Publishing since last time I was here.  And I received news this morning that it is a TOP PICK at The Romance Reviews!! YAY!! 😀

I am also on my last read through/proofing of “Guarding His Anchor” (Book 2: Canadian Muscle).  That will be coming soon at Evernight Publishing as well! I haven’t heard about a release date just yet, but I can’t wait to get this in readers hands.

I have submitted a previously released menage story to a different publisher. I hope to have news about that soon. This story is one that I enjoyed writing very much and can’t wait to write another menage soon.

Please Excuse Me While I Hibernate!

I’m not a fan of this time of year. Where I live, in the UK, it gets dark around 5pm, it’s cold and often rainy and windy. Granted, there are some beautiful, crisp days, but they’re so short that there’s barely any time to enjoy them. Dark mornings and nights make it harder for me to get out of bed, and want to crawl back into it at about 7pm (it’d be earlier, but I won’t miss dinner! 😉 ). Really, what I’d love to do is hibernate. I’d miss the short days, save a fortune on Christmas presents, and never have to see frost, ice and snow. How wonderful!

At the risk of sounding like a total grump, there are benefits to November. The colours of the leaves on the trees (and on the ground!) are beautiful. Cold, wet, short days do not make me want to bunk off and go out somewhere, or take the dog for a long walk. They don’t make me stare wistfully out of the window, wishing I wasn’t working. Therefore I do tend to knuckle down and get on with things more. Especially writing. So, although I’m not taking part in NaNoWriMo (I just write what I can, when I can – guaranteed money jobs have to come first!), November tends to be a pretty good month for me in terms of word count. Which will come in handy as I have a novel to finish, and a couple of deadlines. So, wish me luck!

Wrap up warm everyone, and happy reading! 😀

No Boys AllowedThree sexy Sapphic tales from the pen of Lucy Felthouse:

No Boys Allowed
When Leigh goes to meet with some potential housemates in a sought-after part of London, all she’s interested in is making a good impression. But will her feelings be reciprocated?

Something in Common
Nerd and amateur photographer Justine is partaking of one of her favourite pastimes—visiting a historical site—when she bumps into Amber. Little Miss Goody Two Shoes
Izzy and her girlfriend are visiting a beautiful stately home in the British countryside. Taking a stroll around the garden, Izzy’s shocked to see a statue of a female—totally naked. Her girlfriend, astounded that Izzy is such a prude and a Little Miss Goody Two Shoes, proceeds to show her just what fun can be had in a country garden with a statue to hide them from prying eyes.
