Sparkling New Year and a New Direction with @MeganSlayer

Normally when I start the year, one of the first things I do is make up a general plan for the year. What am I going to write? What’s talking? What’s the best use of my writing time for the year? Who am I going to write for? Seems like quite a few valid questions, right?

The thing is, this year is different than the last few. One of my cherished publishers has opted to close. They’re going about it a very professional way, but still…they’re closing. That means two of my series are in limbo…what do I do with them? I’m still deciding. Another publisher is allowing the writers to put the books into print. That’s great, but that’s a whole slew of cover art that isn’t ready… Makes my mind boggle.  Yet another publisher switched over to a new company. I’m thrilled. I like the change, but I’m not wild about change in general. I’d rather things stay the same. I know, I know. Life doesn’t work that way.

So that’s where I’m temporarily stuck and sorting out what I want to do. I’ll get there. Promise. I’ve got plenty of books in the pipeline for this year and the characters never take a day off.

So the new direction I mentioned in the title? That’s not kicking myself for not writing when I want and giving myself some wiggle room. If the story isn’t talking for a day, I’m not going to push it. If it’s talking a lot, I’ll have a notebook handy.

What are your plans for 2018? Did you make resolutions? Why? Why not? Let me know. Speaking of New Years…

Here’s a little bit about my latest release, Sparkling New Year!

New year, new relationship?
Dating and Aydin Madison haven’t been good friends. He’s shy, bookish and would rather be with his set designs than most people. He knows his way around the theater, but his love life is non-existent. He knows whom he’d like to date–Brandon Kidd, the boy du jour of the art school. He’d love to rub Brandon the right way. It’s too bad Brandon doesn’t seem to know Aydin exists.
When freak circumstances throw these two together, they’ll have to decide if the sizzling connection is the key to their happy new year or just a fluke.

Libby moved so she was stood right in front of Demetrio and looked up at him. His answer came by way of action. He took off his cap and tossed it into the back of the jeep then grabbed Libby’s hand and pulled her around the vehicle, away from the through route. Pushing her up against the side of the jeep, he took her face in his hands and kissed her. It was gentle, yet passionate, and Libby felt a tingle spread throughout her body which had nothing to do with the alcohol she’d consumed. This was lust, pure and simple.

Reaching up and bunching his soft hair in one hand, Libby wrapped the other arm around his back and pulled Demetrio closer, so his body was pressed to hers, trapping her between him and the jeep. She quickly discovered he was just as aroused as she was; because of the height difference his erection pressed against her lower stomach. Closing her eyes as they deepened the kiss, she moaned. Demetrio pressed his hard cock more forcefully against her.

Twisting her face away, Libby gasped. Fuck the foreplay, she wanted him now. She was more than ready.

“Demetrio. Pass me my bag.”

He pulled away from her and did as she’d asked. He handed it to her wordlessly and watched, his breathing heavy as she retrieved a condom from the depths of her bag. Checking the date, she heaved a sigh of relief. It had been in there so long that she’d almost forgotten about it.

Demetrio took the bag from her and put it back in the jeep. Standing in front of her, he waited, clearly unsure what to do next. Libby reached out and grabbed the waistband of his shorts, pulling him in for another toe-curling kiss. Suddenly, she put her hand between them and pushed him away again. Before he had chance to react, Libby undid the condom wrapper and tossed it into the back seat and said,

“Pull down your shorts.”

Once he had, Libby took stock of his raging erection and felt a fresh gush of liquid soaking her knickers. Fuck, but his cock looked good. It was long, thick and raring to go. She handed him the condom and wriggled out of her own shorts and thong as he rolled it on. Once they were both ready, their eyes met and there was no more hesitation. They’d gone way past that.

Demetrio stepped towards Libby and pressed a kiss to her lips, then reached down to lift up one of her legs. He bent at the knees and used his free hand to position his cock at her entrance. She tilted her hips towards him, and he drove deep inside her.

Flinging her arms around Demetrio’s neck, Libby let out a yell as her pussy stretched around his thick shaft. She was so wet that it didn’t hurt, exactly, but it had been a while. Once he was inside her balls-deep, he looked at her face. She gave a nod, and he moved his free hand to grip her hip and began to fuck her for all he was worth.
