Trying to Keep Toes Warm! (@KaceyHammell) #Writing #Winter #TopPick

Good morning everyone!
As my topic states, I’m trying to keep my tootsies warm in this cold weather. Winter has been brutal with the cold temperatures. And normally I wouldn’t mind that, however, here in Ontario the strange temperatures are most frustrating. We have gone from bone chilling days to milder days (people have actually worn shorts on these days — only in Canada!!), and it’s the back and forth that is difficult to deal with. It seems the drastic changes are the cause of many colds and people don’t know how to dress from one day to the next. But they should know better. Canadian winters are not the same every year and they can be tough to get through. While my toes are cold and I haven’t gone more than a day or two without a cozy sweater on, I love the fact that it’s Canada. It’s home. I could do without the treacherous driving on snow / freezing rain days. I usually stay home those days but I worry for others who are out and about, trying to make it to work and such.

Writing news — “Payback’s a Bitch” released at Evernight Publishing since last time I was here.  And I received news this morning that it is a TOP PICK at The Romance Reviews!! YAY!! 😀

I am also on my last read through/proofing of “Guarding His Anchor” (Book 2: Canadian Muscle).  That will be coming soon at Evernight Publishing as well! I haven’t heard about a release date just yet, but I can’t wait to get this in readers hands.

I have submitted a previously released menage story to a different publisher. I hope to have news about that soon. This story is one that I enjoyed writing very much and can’t wait to write another menage soon.

Be sure to check out my latest release, “Payback’s A Bitch” Available at these stores ~  https://books2read.com/u/mV7Xz6

Have a wonderful weekend ahead!!

Welcoming 2017! (@KaceyHammell) #Writing #Author #ComingSoon

Good morning all! And hello to 2017!! I, for one, am glad to say goodbye to 2016. It was a difficult year — personally, professionally, for the world and everywhere in between. But going into the new year, I’m filled with some optimism and hope. My hubby says “it can’t get worse”. I beg to differ but that’s too gloom and doom. I don’t want to focus on all that negativity.

We ended Christmas day with a death in my family but from that sadness I (and my mom, whose father passed), we came away with one another and a strong connection of mother/daughter and how much her father meant to her. He was a man she had differences with but in the end had a great bond she can cherish. So the hope and love we always find solace in is stronger than ever and reminds me that family and love will always wrap their arms around us and keep us together. It reminded me about how romantic my grandparents were as well. They would have been married over 60 years and that number of years for a couple is quite unheard of these days. My hubby and I are approaching 16 years and we’ve never been happier together, despite the bumps in the road.

Writing romance, for me, is inspired by those previous generations (we are a family with no divorces), and how a simple song will prompt a dance around the kitchen (or a way to say goodbye at a funeral), a light touch down the arm rejuvenates that connection and heat between that couple. And thanks to my hubby, every day a simple kiss on the forehead a few times a day, has me closing my eyes and loving him completely, with his love wrapping around me like a blanket.

I hope all of you have those kinds of moments with the person they love this year and beyond.

And quickly, just FYI since I touched upon writing, I have a new release coming out next week — January 11th!

Happy Holidays!! (@KaceyHammell) #Writing #Author

Good morning everyone! Happy Holidays!

The days are flying by faster and faster, aren’t they? It feels like we just celebrated Christmas last year. Summer flew by in the blink of an eye. We had a long hot drought through this summer and I was glad to see it end. But now there’s white stuff covering everything. Looks pretty but makes for some treacherous road conditions.

Kids start their Christmas holidays here at the end of the day tomorrow. My boys have never been happier to see the holidays arrive. School isn’t what it used to be, they are finding the teachers sarcastic and grumpy, and butting into their personal lives. I could go on for hours about a conversation I had with the principal last week, but I’ll spare you those details.

I just celebrated my 42nd birthday last week. It was phenomenal. I’m not one who cares about birthdays much or getting older, but it was lovely to have the kids and hubby spoil me rotten a bit extra. I never turn down presents or extra hugs and kisses! LOL

Book wise, I’m writing 2 stories at the moment. Back and forth and both are going well, but not fast enough – for my liking. I’ve been trying to take it one day at a time, write 2-3  one hour sprints during the day to keep myself moving and get other things accomplished as well but it’s not always as many words as I hope for at the end of every day.

I also received edits from my publisher for my next release, “Payback’s a Bitch” (formerly pubbed Prank Me), which will be out in the new year. It is such a fun story. I loved writing it, and the opportunity to add to it for re-release. I love revisiting old characters.

So watch for that book next year, as well as “Guarding His Anchor” (Canadian Muscle #2, sequel to Guarding Midnight). And of course more as each story is completed. I can’t wait to share new books with you.

Until next year, have a wonderful and safe holiday! May all your loved ones surround you with love and laughter throughout the holidays, and may all your prayers be answered.
