Happy Easter from us all #MondayRamblings with Doris (@mamaD8)

Hello, lovely peeps, Doris here.

I know we’re at the end of the Easter Break now, but I wanted to wish you all a Happy Easter anyway, whether you’re celebrating it or not.

It’s been a while because I somehow missed my last slot on here. My bad, I know, but my brain is like a sieve at the best of times, let alone when I’m in the middle of a story.

My muse has been even more demented than usual lately. I’m currently writing three stories at once…. yes you’ve read that right….

At least I’m almost at the end of one, a very sexy and tortured vamp. That just leaves the dragon and the alien story to finish. I refuse to listen to her whispering in my ear about other stories, she wants me to write, until I’ve managed to finish this lot.

Stop laughing in that corner.

In other news, my story The Hunt is part of Evernight Publishing’s upcoming shifter Anthology Owned by the Alpha.

Not every night you’re hunted by wolves, meet your mate and then run out on him…

Everyone knows wolves eat deer, so when Aubrey Verene accidentally stumbles into their monthly hunt, she runs for her life.
Straight into the path of the biggest wolf of them all.

Raphael Taylor, Alpha of his pack, is enjoying the thrill of the chase. He certainly doesn’t expect to find his own mate, let alone see her being pursued by the rival pack on his territory.
His wolf’s revenge is as swift as it is deadly.
No one touches what’s his.

Convincing his mate that being eaten by this particular wolf is a good idea proves trickier, never mind the reluctance of his pack to accept a deer in their midst.

Can this unlikely mating stand up to the challenge, or are they doomed from the start?

I had fun with that conflict, I tell you. Owned by the Alpha releases April 25th and is available for preorder now at a special reduced prize. Here are the deets. Just check out the lineup of authors!

The Alpha lives for the hunt…
Driven by instinct, an Alpha shifter recognizes his fated mate from one scent, one touch. He’ll pursue his woman, regardless of the cost, and anyone else would be smart to get out of his way. He won’t stop until he takes possession of his prize.
Although the hunter doesn’t need convincing, his mate certainly does. The Alpha will have to prove himself as a lover and convince his woman that he plays for keeps.

Scent of Destiny by Rose Wulf
Taken Mate by Sam Crescent
Finders Keepers by Stacey Espino
The Hunt by Doris O’Connor
Alpha at Altitude by Lily Harlem
Fated to the Razorback Demon by Maia Dylan
Running Home by Michelle Graham
Alpha’s Sunshine by Elyzabeth M. VaLey

What feeds your muse? #MondayRamblings with Doris (@mamaD8)

Happy Monday, folks, Doris here.

Hope you’re all having a great day. I’m on somewhat of a high because I managed to send my first submission of the year off to my publisher Evernight Publishing. Slightly late for me, I have to say, but my writing has been somewhat on a slow go lately.

I blame the car accident I had just before Christmas. It did throw me for a loop for some time, but I’ve finally been discharged from Physio, and my muse is back with a vengeance.

She’s on a right shifter streak at the minute, which led me to today’s blog post. What feeds your muse?

Mine is a very visual creature. Give her a hunky man to drool over and she’s off.

In this case she went a little doolally over my inspiration for Darius Longton, bear shifter.

I had no idea who this hunk was when I started writing Claiming his Human, but I’m reliably informed this is the model Christian Goran, and, well, be still my beating heart.

He just has bear shifter written all over him, really.

Um, where was I?

Oh, yeah, my story.

Here’s the blurb for Claiming his Human (The Projects, #6)

Shifters defend their mates to the death.

Bear shifter Darius Longton never expected to find his mate in his favorite coffee shop, but one sniff of her scent in the air is all it takes for his bear to know the truth.

This delicious, sinfully curvy redhead is his.

Too bad she’s human and far too fragile for his volatile bear.

Holly Trent cannot understand the instant attraction she feels for this man. One look from his heavy-lidded eyes is all it takes to set her knickers aflame with lust. However, she will not be another notch on his bedpost, no matter how much his voice alone makes her want to sink to her knees.

When a customer gets heavy with her, everything changes.

Darius’s defense of her places them both in terrible danger. Thrown headfirst into council shifter politics it falls to Holly to save her mate.

Hopefully the powers that be will like this story as much as I loved writing it. To avoid inbox stalking I’m immersing myself into writing my next story. This one is about a wolf shifter, alpha of his pack who ends up mated too a deer shifter….

Should be fun! That’s him protecting his mate.

‘Til next time, folks.

Do stay naughty!

Can you hear this…? #MondayRamble from Doris (@mamaD8)

Like the title says, can you hear this?

No? Exactly?

Peace….

I woke up in bonny Scotland this morning because I’m visiting with the lovely Raven McAllan for the week, and it’s just so peaceful. No screaming kids, no howling dogs, no kitten purring in my ear, demanding attention.

Just Raven, and me in our pjs and our laptops writing up a storm, swapping ideas and generally speaking chilling out. I can’t even articulate how much I’ve been looking forward to this trip, and I need to give a big shout out to my kids and my lovely hubby who are holding the fort at home and pulling together to keep the O’Connor madness going as it should.

I often say everyone should have a Raven, but you can’t have mine. 😉

Seriously, though, we all need that one person who simply gets us, and I’m incredibly lucky to have found that in Raven.

Before I get too sentimental, I’m going to sign off, not least because Raven is on my case to get some more words down.

She wants to get her rediting little mitts on this bear shifter, see.

Just a short post from me today.

Do stay naughty, folks.
