In Memory #MondayRamblings with Doris (@mamaD8)

Hello, lovely peeps, Doris here.

I’m afraid I don’t have any cheery news to share today. Like many, I’m sure, I was deeply saddened by the events that occurred at the Pulse Night Club in Orlando on Saturday night. I first became aware of them at lunch time UK time on Sunday, when my FB feed exploded with it.

I can’t even begin to comprehend the mentality of someone who is capable of committing such a heinous crime. At the time of my scheduling this post the death toll stood at 50 people and 54 injured, which makes this the biggest mass shooting in US History. ๐Ÿ™

Their crime, if you will? Being at a gay club and having a good time at a Saturday. I can’t even begin to imagine how the family, ย and friends of those caught up in the events must be feeling, not to mention the emergency services and anyone else really.

I hope and pray that those injured will make full recoveries, though I fear the death toll may yet rise.

So, I’m asking you all ย to join me in lighting a candle for Orlando.

If you live close by I understand they are desperately in need of blood donors, and I would urge you go and donate if you can. I would go as far to say that everyone able to should go and donate, as blood stocks are always indeed of replenishing. At least they are here in the UK.

Much love from me. Go and hug your loved ones close, and let’s all work at making this world a better place, where these things do not happen.

It has to stop!

D xxx
